On September 5th, 2024, the National Center for the Rights of the Child held a meeting between the Republic of Korea and Denmark’s Social Committees in the 7th-floor International Conference Room.The meeting was attended by Chung Ick-Joong, Director of the National Center for the Rights of the Child; No Hana, Head of Adoption Policy Support; Katrine Daugaard, Vice-Chair of the Danish Parliament's Social Committee; Philip Alexander Halkvist, Deputy Head of Mission and Political Counselor at the Danish Embassy in Korea, along with around 20 other officials. The session focused on sharing information about child rights and international adoption systems and exploring areas for improvement.The National Center for the Rights of the Child will continue to promote exchanges and cooperation with the international community to advance child rights.Thank you.
NCRC, singed dn MOU with Korea Employment Information Service
On Tuesday, September 3rd, the National Center for the Rights of the Child and the Korea Employment Information Service signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to provide employment information for youth preparing for independence.Under this MOU, the two organizations will cooperate on promoting policies related to youth preparing for independence. The National Center for the Rights of the Child will provide information on child policy and youth independence policies and promote youth policies, while the Korea Employment Information Service will guide on policies for youth preparing for independence and actively support employment programs for these youths.We kindly request your continued interest and support for the cooperation and exchange between the two organizations.
NCRC, held a ceremony to mark its 5th anniversary and an employee workshop
On July 5th, the National Center for the Rights of the Child held a ceremony to mark its 5th anniversary and an employee workshop.The ceremony included a screening of congratulatory videos from experts and field professionals, sharing of the organization’s achievements, and awards for outstanding employees. The event also featured a lecture by Kim Beom-jun, author of "I Like the Way You Speak Beautifully," and a "Let’s Praise Each Other" program to foster communication and unity among staff.During the ESG Management Declaration Ceremony, the organization pledged to actively implement ESG management as a core strategy for organizational operation. President Chung Ick-Joong emphasized the commitment to creating a health-friendly organizational culture, stating, "We will ensure that all employees can alleviate job stress and work with healthy bodies and minds."The National Center for the Rights of the Child will continue to grow as a leading institution in realizing child rights, working diligently until the day all children are happy.
NCRC, Co-hosting of the 2024 Korean Association of Child Welfare Spring Academic Conference
The 2024 Korean Association of Child Welfare Spring Academic Conference, organized and hosted by the Korean Association of Child Welfare and co-hosted by the Buseureogi Love Sharing Association and the National Center for the Rights of the Child, took place on Friday, June 21st, 2024, at the National Center for the Rights of the Child.Under the theme "Expectations for the 3rd Basic Plan for Child Policy," the conference featured a session by the National Center for the Rights of the Child titled "Conditions and Prospects for Evidence-Based Child Policy Development."As the time approaches for establishing the 3rd Basic Plan for Child Policy, the session involved a lively discussion based on the results of the "Survey on Child Policy and Services" currently being developed by the National Center for the Rights of the Child, aimed at identifying improvement tasks for child policy.
The excellent local government 'training on the Child Policy' Implementation Plan (2022)
The excellent local government training on the Child Policy Implementation Plan (2022) was held from May 29th (Wednesday) to May 31st (Friday), 2024, in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province for a duration of 2 nights and 3 days.The training was attended by representatives from 10 local governments recognized for their excellent implementation of the Child Policy Implementation Plan (2022) (Busan, Dong-gu Busan, Jeonbuk, Daegu, Gwangju, Gyeonggi, Chungnam, Chuncheon City Gangwon, Jeongeup City Jeonbuk, Incheon), each accompanied by two plan implementers and evaluators. The training included listening to opinions from those involved in local child policy implementation and evaluation, sharing policy implementation directions, lectures on child policy, and field visits.

On Friday, June 21st, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the National Center for the Rights of the Child, and Shinhan Card signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support the safe upbringing of children and pregnant women in crisis.This MOU aims to support the safe delivery of pregnant women in crisis and ensure a safe nurturing environment for their unborn children and children. It includes efforts to provide systematic counseling and service linkage for pregnant women in crisis.We kindly request your continued interest in the collaborative activities of the institutions.
NCRC, held a Workshop and Basic Training for Crisis Pregnancy Regional Counseling Center Staff
From June 11th (Tuesday) to June 14th (Friday), 2024, the National Center for the Rights of the Child hosted a "Workshop and Basic Training for Crisis Pregnancy Regional Counseling Center Staff" at the Courtyard Marriott Namdaemun Hotel in Seoul, aimed at establishing the crisis pregnancy protection and childbirth system.The workshop was attended by 72 staff members from 16 regional counseling centers across the country, as well as officials from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and 17 city and provincial governments, along with staff from the National Center for the Rights of the Child. 2024 National Pinwheel Supporters Workshop
In June, the National Center for the Rights of the Child held the "2024 National Pinwheel Supporters Workshop."The "Pinwheel Supporters Workshop" was organized to facilitate mutual exchange and strengthen the self-reliance capabilities of youth preparing for independence. A total of 110 participants attended, including Pinwheel Supporters from across the country, youth preparing for independence, and staff from independence support agencies.During the workshop, the 15th cohort of new Pinwheel Supporters was appointed, and a discussion on psychological and emotional health for youth was held in collaboration with the National Center for Mental Health through the "Youth Mental Health ON" forum. Additionally, mentoring training was conducted to enhance the capabilities of senior mentors.
2024 Regional Joint Workshops on Child Protection System
Since June, the National Center for the Rights of the Child has conducted the "2024 Regional Joint Workshops on Child Protection System" in four sessions.The "Child Protection System Joint Workshops" were organized to strengthen the network and mutual cooperation among local child protection service agencies. NCRC, held a representative workshop between the Child Advisory Committee of the National Center for the Rights of the Child and the National Youth Advisory Committee
On Tuesday, August 20th, the National Center for the Rights of the Child held a representative workshop between the Child Advisory Committee of the National Center for the Rights of the Child and the National Youth Advisory Committee at the center's main conference room.The workshop was organized to strengthen the network and mutual cooperation between the two advisory bodies, which provide a platform for children and youth to voice their opinions. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions about children's rights.At this inaugural workshop, the center shared information about its child participation support programs and case studies. The child representatives and the National Youth Advisory Committee discussed various opinions on children's rights with a focus on "The Right to Play," and explored ways to enhance cooperation in promoting child and youth participation.
